ADMINISTRATION
The Administration and IT course provides practical opportunities for learners to develop and apply their organisational and administrative skills. Learners also develop IT skills that enable them to use technologies as tools for carrying out organisational and administrative tasks.

The course is made up of 3 units, which are internally assessed, and an added value assignment. Information about the units and the assessment components can be found on the SQA website.

The focus of this course is to allow the learners to practically engage in their learning, thus the course is mainly IT based. In the IT part of the course, learners will use the following software:
  • Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft Access
  • Microsoft Powerpoint
  • Microsoft Publisher
  • Microsoft Outlook
Administration & IT is available at the following levels:
  • National 4
  • National 5
  • Higher
This is a valuable course to learners as it allows them to develop an understanding of administration in the workplace and the role of technology, enabling them to contribute to the effective functioning of organisations through administrative positions and beyond.
